CASA Celebrates 5 Years of Service to McHenry County's Children
In July, CASA proudly celebrated five years of commitment to McHenry County’s abused and neglected children.
Since opening our doors in 2005, we have trained 92 passionate volunteers to advocate for 212 children in need. CASA volunteers are the eyes and ears of the court and the voice of the child. Their dedication to ensuring McHenry County’s children a safe, permanent home in which they can thrive has helped to close 98 cases of child abuse and neglect in court.
With five years of active, non-profit service under our belt, CASA is excited to commemorate those volunteers and advocates who have contributed to our success and to welcome new, committed individuals on board. Empowered, everyday citizens are the driving force of our organization. Whether it is donating your time to becoming an advocate or attending a fundraising event in support of CASA of McHenry County, even your smallest steps mean great strides towards the survival and growth of this valuable organization.
CASA Partners with Nicor for 15th Annual Volunteer Day
On Saturday, May 21 CASA volunteers join forces with Nicor employees to beautify Hearthstone Manor, an adult assisted living facility in Woodstock. This year marked Nicor’s 15th year giving back to the community through service.
CASA of McHenry County was proud to share in the celebration and hard work of the Nicor team. Nicor, CASA and the staff at Hearthstone planted flowers and spread mulch across the facilities campus. In total, nearly 50 volunteers were on hand to help with the work. CASA looks forward to a continued partnership with Nicor as we work together to make McHenry County a better place for all.
Light of Hope Breakfast
The 5th annual Light of Hope Breakfast took place Wednesday, April 27 at D’Andrea in Crystal Lake. The fundraiser was a huge success with nearly 180 guests in attendance. Guests heard the moving testament of a former CASA child and the riveting support of CASA from Justice Ann Jorgensen. Over $50,000 raised as the breakfast continues to be CASA of McHenry County’s largest fundraiser. Thank you to our outstanding table captains for making this event a success.
A special thanks to our Diamond Sponsor B&R Bleachers and to all of our sponsors for their support: Rabine Group Foundation; Crystal Lake Bank & Trust; Centegra Health Systems; Home State Bank; McHenry County Orthopaedics; Lavelle Law; Neis Insurance; Excalibur Technology; Dorion-Gray Retirement Planning; and RN Johnson.
