Changing the World - One Child At a Time
CASA of McHenry County is dedicated to giving a voice to the most vulnerable members of our community: children who, by no fault of their own, find themselves forced into the foster care system due to abuse, neglect, or the absence of a caregiver.
Children with a CASA…
- Spend less time in the foster care system
- Have fewer changes in foster placements
- More likely to be adopted
- More likely to graduate from high school
- Less likely to become a teen parent
- Less likely to spend time in jail
In Fiscal Year 2024
- 350 Children Served
- 177 Volunteer Advocates
- 33 New Advocates Trained & Sworn In
- 81 Children Received their Permanent Home

“On our first visit, I told the kids that I’m here to let the judge know how they are doing and if they need anything. I said, ‘I’ll be with you the entire time’. I knew that was true the moment I laid eyes on them. They need me. I can’t leave them.”
– Erin, Volunteer Advocate

“Being involved in the CASA organization has made me feel empowered to make a direct difference in the life of a child within my own community.”
– Holly, Volunteer Advocate

“Advocating for a child from a distance, through Zoom calls and quarantines, can bring disconnect and frustration, but knowing how much harder it is on the kids brings a certain drive and fervor to us all.”
– Eric, Volunteer Advocate
